PET Scan -- Pam's update 10/14/08

Hi everyone, it’s been awhile since I have updated the blog and I know many of you want to know what's up.
First the great news. The results of the PET scan are back and they are negative. No signs of cancer anywhere. We still have chemo ahead of us as a precaution against any cancer cells that may be lurking in the background, but at least they got all that we knew about during the surgery. We praise God for that and we thank you for your prayers and support.
On a little bit of a downer, we are dealing with an infection around one of the incisions. If we can't get this controlled with the antibiotics then we will have to do another surgery and have the expander removed and delay the reconstructive process by several months. We REALLY hope that is not necessary.
We go back to the Doctor tomorrow (Wed Oct. 15th) and decide what is next. If the infection is healing, then we can go forward with the chemo.
Keep praying.
Chuck and Pam

Wonderful news about the PET scan! Hopefully the antibiotics will get the infection under control. We will continue to pray for a full and uneventful recovery.

Dear Pam and Chuck,

Good news on the Pet scan....
Sorry to hear the expanders had to come out. It is so difficult to understand why these things happen but in time, God will show us the way. Please let me help in any way and do whatever I can to help you through this process. I think and pray for you daily. Dottie

Hi Pam,

Hope this finds you feeling better. I really wanted to call but could not find your number in my cell phone for some reason. (Not to good with technology). Heard from Linda that you were having a rough week. Please just take one day at a time. You are going to get through all of this and be a stronger person because of it! You are in my thoughts and prayers every day. I wish you well. Dottie
